Covenant Nursery School
Our Programs Include

  • Large Motor - designed to promote gross or large muscle
    development. Fenced in outdoor playground and large indoor room.

  • Daily Projects - creative art, activities involving fine motor and visual
    perceptual skills.

  • Listening Skills - stories, recordings, sound matching games, and
    following directions.

  • Verbal Development - interaction in play, purposeful activities, show
    & tell, and dramatic play.

  • Music - singing, creative movement, dance, and rhythm instruments.

  • Science and Math - experimental hands-on learning experiences.

  • Basic Concepts - shapes, colors, rhyming, opposites, seriation,
    patterning, and sequencing.

  • Social Skills - Snack time: pouring, serving, sharing, clean-up, and
    courtesy to others.

Parent Communication

    To keep communications open between parents and staff,  monthly
    newsletters are sent home which include upcoming events, daily art
    projects, songs,  and finger plays. Teachers also verbally
    communicate with parents at the end of each class.

Special Events

  • Fun Day Open House (day, prior to opening of school , carnival
    atmosphere to introduce children to school & teachers).

  • Home Visits (by arrangement, three's class only)

  • Parent Orientation meeting (evening).

  • Open House (evening).

  • Thanksgiving Feast.

  • Circus Parade (Four's class only).

  • Holiday Parties.

  • Field Trips.

  • Speech and Hearing Screening (Parent Options).

  • Specialized Body Movement Program done twice a month to promote
    balance, coordination, and large muscle development (Four's and
    Five's classes only).

  • Individual Pupil Evaluation - Conferences and detailed checklist
    covering seven areas of child development.
